Mechanical

A&P Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Robots are being built to inspect airframes and work on fasteners, where a missed crack or a wrong torque matters. A&P mechanics work to that standard every shift. You set it for robots in simulation.

The work

What aircraft mechanics do in simulation.

We build the task in simulation. You show how it is done, correct the robot where it goes wrong and set what counts as done right. Robotics teams train their own models on the result.

01

Demonstrate

Show how you inspect a panel or remove and install fasteners, including the order and the checks.

02

Correct robot mistakes

Review robot attempts and flag mistakes such as a missed defect, the wrong torque sequence or a damaged fastener hole.

03

Set the criteria

Define what passes inspection and what a correctly completed task looks like, in terms a robot can be checked against.

Who qualifies

What we ask for.

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate
  • 5 or more years in aircraft maintenance
  • Based in the US
  • Able to explain the steps, checks and common mistakes in your work
  • No robotics, simulation or coding background needed
Pay and hours

How the work runs.

Rate
$70–95/hr for project work, depending on experience.
Hours
Part-time. You tell us how many hours a week you can give when you apply.
Where
Remote. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.
Payment
For completed work. Scope, time and payment terms are agreed before you begin.
Contract
The application asks whether you can work as an independent contractor where you live.

We match people to upcoming projects. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.

FAQ

Can aircraft mechanics make money training AI?

Yes. This role pays $70–95/hr, depending on experience, for part-time project work on a computer. You define inspection and fastener tasks to aviation standards in simulation. Scope, hours and payment terms are agreed before each project starts.

Is there remote work for A&P mechanics?

Hangar work isn't remote, but this is. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.

Will robots replace aircraft mechanics?

No. Airworthiness depends on certified people signing off on the work. Robots are learning to help with inspection and repetitive fastener work, and they learn the standard from the people who hold it.

Do I need robotics or coding experience?

No. Each project gives you the instructions and controls for the task. We need your knowledge of the work.

How do I apply?

Fill in the application. It takes about 5 minutes and asks about your experience, your hours and one mistake a beginner makes in your work that you would spot right away. When a project needs your expertise, we reach out.
