What sewing machine operators do in simulation.
We build the task in simulation. You show how it is done, correct the robot where it goes wrong and set what counts as done right. Robotics teams train their own models on the result.
Demonstrate
Show how you align, feed and guide fabric through a seam, including corners and curves.
Correct robot mistakes
Review robot attempts and flag puckering, drift off the seam line or fabric fed at the wrong tension.
Set the criteria
Define what a finished seam looks like: straight, even, flat and within allowance.
What we ask for.
- 4 or more years as an industrial sewing machine operator
- Experience with production sewing (apparel, upholstery, technical textiles or similar)
- Based in the US
- Able to explain the steps, checks and common mistakes in your work
- No robotics, simulation or coding background needed
How the work runs.
- Rate
- $40–55/hr for project work, depending on experience.
- Hours
- Part-time. You tell us how many hours a week you can give when you apply.
- Where
- Remote. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.

Can sewing machine operators make money training AI?
Yes. This role pays $40–55/hr, depending on experience, for part-time project work on a computer. You demonstrate fabric handling and seam feeding, and review robot attempts in simulation. Scope, hours and payment terms are agreed before each project starts.
Are there remote jobs for sewing machine operators?
Production sewing isn't remote, but this is. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.
Will robots replace sewers?
Not any time soon. Fabric is one of the hardest materials for robots to handle. They are learning single steps like feeding a straight seam, and they learn them from people who sew.
Do I need robotics or coding experience?
No. Each project gives you the instructions and controls for the task. We need your knowledge of the work.
How do I apply?
Fill in the application. It takes about 5 minutes and asks about your experience, your hours and one mistake a beginner makes in your work that you would spot right away. When a project needs your expertise, we reach out.
