The work

What CNC machinists do in simulation.

We build the task in simulation. You show how it is done, correct the robot where it goes wrong and set what counts as done right. Robotics teams train their own models on the result.

01

Demonstrate

Show how a part is picked, oriented, loaded and clamped, using the controls provided.

02

Correct robot mistakes

Pick up where a robot jammed or misloaded a part, and show how you would recover safely.

03

Set the criteria

Define when a part is seated correctly and when a recovery counts as done.

Who qualifies

What we ask for.

  • 5 or more years as a CNC machinist, machine operator or assembly lead
  • Hands-on experience loading parts and clearing jams
  • Based in the US
  • Able to explain the steps, checks and common mistakes in your work
  • No robotics, simulation or coding background needed
Pay and hours

How the work runs.

Rate
$50–70/hr for project work, depending on experience.
Hours
Part-time. You tell us how many hours a week you can give when you apply.
Where
Remote. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.
Payment
For completed work. Scope, time and payment terms are agreed before you begin.
Contract
The application asks whether you can work as an independent contractor where you live.

We match people to upcoming projects. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.

Can CNC machinists make money training AI?

Yes. This role pays $50–70/hr, depending on experience, for part-time project work on a computer. You demonstrate part loading and jam recovery in simulation. Scope, hours and payment terms are agreed before each project starts.

Are there remote jobs for CNC machinists?

Running machines isn't remote, but this is. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.

Will robots replace machinists?

Robots already tend some machines. Setup, troubleshooting and judging a good part still depend on people, and robots need those people to learn even the simple steps well. What they learn is shaped by whoever teaches them.

Do I need robotics or coding experience?

No. Each project gives you the instructions and controls for the task. We need your knowledge of the work.

How do I apply?

Fill in the application. It takes about 5 minutes and asks about your experience, your hours and one mistake a beginner makes in your work that you would spot right away. When a project needs your expertise, we reach out.
