Master or ASE-Certified Mechanic
Taking things apart is hard to teach a robot. Fasteners seize, strip and hide, and the order matters. You define disassembly and fastener tasks in simulation and spell out how they go wrong.

What mechanics do in simulation.
We build the task in simulation. You show how it is done, correct the robot where it goes wrong and set what counts as done right. Robotics teams train their own models on the result.
Demonstrate
Show the steps of a disassembly or fastener task in order, with the tool and checks you would use.
Correct robot mistakes
Review robot attempts, catch mistakes like cross-threading, the wrong sequence or too much force, and show what you would do instead.
Set the criteria
Write down the failure cases for each task and what counts as done right, so robots can be tested against them.
What we ask for.
- 7 or more years working as a mechanic
- Master technician or ASE-certified
- Based in the US or Canada
- Able to explain the steps, checks and common mistakes in your work
- No robotics, simulation or coding background needed
How the work runs.
- Rate
- $55–75/hr for project work, depending on experience.
- Hours
- Part-time. You tell us how many hours a week you can give when you apply.
- Where
- Remote. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.
- Payment
- For completed work. Scope, time and payment terms are agreed before you begin.
- Contract
- The application asks whether you can work as an independent contractor where you live.
We match people to upcoming projects. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.

Can mechanics make money training AI?
Yes. This role pays $55–75/hr, depending on experience, for part-time project work on a computer. You define fastener and disassembly tasks and their failure cases in simulation. Scope, hours and payment terms are agreed before each project starts.
Are there remote jobs for mechanics?
Shop work isn't remote, but this is. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.
Will robots replace mechanics?
Not any time soon. Diagnosing a fault and working on a car with years of wear, rust and past repairs is far beyond what robots can do today. They are learning narrow tasks first, and what they learn is shaped by whoever teaches them.
Is this a fit for a retired mechanic?
It can be. We need your knowledge of the work, not time under a car. The role asks for 7 or more years of experience, and the work is part-time and on a computer.
Do I need robotics or coding experience?
No. Each project gives you the instructions and controls for the task. We need your knowledge of the work.
How do I apply?
Fill in the application. It takes about 5 minutes and asks about your experience, your hours and one mistake a beginner makes in your work that you would spot right away. When a project needs your expertise, we reach out.
