The work

What lab technicians do in simulation.

We build the task in simulation. You show how it is done, correct the robot where it goes wrong and set what counts as done right. Robotics teams train their own models on the result.

01

Demonstrate

Show the handling steps for a task, such as opening, transferring or capping, in the order that keeps it sterile.

02

Correct robot mistakes

Review robot attempts and flag breaks in technique, such as passing over an open vessel or touching a sterile surface.

03

Set the criteria

Define the steps and checks for each task, and what counts as a contaminated or failed run.

Who qualifies

What we ask for.

  • 3 or more years working in a wet lab or cleanroom
  • Working knowledge of aseptic technique or cleanroom protocol
  • Based in the US or UK
  • Able to explain the steps, checks and common mistakes in your work
  • No robotics, simulation or coding background needed
Pay and hours

How the work runs.

Rate
$45–60/hr for project work, depending on experience.
Hours
Part-time. You tell us how many hours a week you can give when you apply.
Where
Remote. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.
Payment
For completed work. Scope, time and payment terms are agreed before you begin.
Contract
The application asks whether you can work as an independent contractor where you live.

We match people to upcoming projects. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.

Can lab technicians make money training AI?

Yes. This role pays $45–60/hr, depending on experience, for part-time project work on a computer. You define aseptic handling steps and review robot attempts in simulation. Scope, hours and payment terms are agreed before each project starts.

Are there remote jobs for lab techs?

Bench work isn't remote, but this is. Most contributions happen on a computer. Timing and equipment depend on the project and are set out before it starts.

Will robots replace lab technicians?

Automation already handles some repetitive lab steps. Most lab work still depends on judgement about technique and contamination, which robots learn only from people who have it. What they learn is shaped by whoever teaches them.

Do I need robotics or coding experience?

No. Each project gives you the instructions and controls for the task. We need your knowledge of the work.

How do I apply?

Fill in the application. It takes about 5 minutes and asks about your experience, your hours and one mistake a beginner makes in your work that you would spot right away. When a project needs your expertise, we reach out.
