Baker or Pastry Cook

Dough is soft, sticky and changes as you work it, which makes it hard for robots to handle. Bakers read it by feel. You show how it is handled and shaped in simulation and judge what the robot makes.

The work

What bakers do in simulation.

We build the task in simulation. You show how it is done, correct the robot where it goes wrong and set what counts as done right. Robotics teams train their own models on the result.

01

Demonstrate

Show how you portion, handle and shape dough, or pipe and finish a pastry, using the controls provided.

02

Correct robot mistakes

Review robot attempts and flag mistakes such as tearing, overworking, uneven portions or a poor finish.

03

Set the criteria

Define what a correctly shaped and finished product looks like for each task.

Who qualifies

What we ask for.

  • 4 or more years as a baker or pastry cook in a production or restaurant setting
  • Based in the US or UK
  • Able to explain the steps, checks and common mistakes in your work
  • No robotics, simulation or coding background needed

Can bakers make money training AI?

Yes. This role pays $40–55/hr, depending on experience, for part-time project work on a computer. You demonstrate dough handling and shaping, and judge robot results in simulation. Scope, hours and payment terms are agreed before each project starts.

Can I do this alongside bakery shifts?

Yes. The work is part-time and happens on a computer. You tell us how many hours a week you can give when you apply.

Will robots replace bakers?

Not any time soon. Machines already mix and divide in large bakeries. Shaping, finishing and judging a good product still take a baker, and robots learn those from one.

Do I need robotics or coding experience?

No. Each project gives you the instructions and controls for the task. We need your knowledge of the work.

How do I apply?

Fill in the application. It takes about 5 minutes and asks about your experience, your hours and one mistake a beginner makes in your work that you would spot right away. When a project needs your expertise, we reach out.
